Handbook, Policy & Procedure Development

Providing guidelines (or conditions) of employment is an important element to the success of the employee-employer relationship. It's an essential part of the communication process. But, having the Handbook is not enough. Making sure that there are separate "recipts" or "acknowledgements" signed by the employee for such things as:

  • The Handbook

  • At-will policy statements

  • Confidentiality agreements

  • Alternative dispute resolution agreements

Privacy/right to inspection is essential in today's litigious work environment.

Having good tools for managers and supervisors to use is also important. Performance evaluation systems, coaching/counseling procedures, documentation guidelines, procedures for drug and alcohol testing, termination guidelines, problem resolution procedures … are important guidelines for managers to access.

Some employers want as few procedures as possible; others want a complete set of guidelines for employees and managers to utilize. Our goal is to help you identify what will work for you without unnecessarily "tying your hands" or reducing needed flexibility.
